Hey Guys,

I was just listening to the podcast that mentioned un-zipping a newer version into the directory where an older version lives as a manner of upgrade (> = 4.6.2 + the "upgrade" resource file)

There was no mention of customized core files that may exist, There are many of us out there who use the Telerik Rad tools. A common core modification is to replace System.Web.UI.ScriptManager with Telerik.Web.UI.RadScriptManager to ultilize the optimizations (request suturing, etc) gained from the Telerik version of the ScriptManager anywhere the system would inject it. ( The replacement is in Ajax.vb and requires a re-compile of the core DNN .dll )

A minor detail, but definitely one that can bite you if you do not verify your customizations to any core files are not overwritten using this update method.

The key to all upgrading is BACKUP, BACKUP, BACKUP! and then any problems that may occur can easily be fixed.
